Labour Release New Policy Document Ahead of Election

The Labour Party have published a new policy document called ‘A Better Plan for Britain’s Prosperity’ setting out their plans for businesses ahead of the General Election. The report largely builds upon previous commitments made by Labour on what they will do to support the business community.

In the report, they have pledged to cut and freeze business rates for small business properties and devolve at least £30 billion to local authorities. They aim to raise the wages of the lowest paid and would give firms incentives and support to pay the Living Wage. Exclusivity clauses in zero-hours contracts would also be banned, and workers who work regular hours would have a right to a fixed hours contract.
