The Lords Select Committee on the rural economy has published its call for evidence. The inquiry will consider how the government is performing on the rural economy, helping rural businesses to thrive and supporting investment and new industries, and supporting shops, pubs and other local amenities.

HM Treasury has launched a consultation which looks into the challenges of delivering more frequent revaluations under the current valuation system. The consultation looks into alternate approaches including self-assessment and a formula approach.
Parking reform: tackling unfair practices (Discussion paper and call for evidence)
In March 2015, the responsibility for policy relating to off-street parking transferred within Government, from the Department for Transport to the Department for Communities and Local Government.
This discussion paper invites individuals, companies, councils and groups to let the Government know what policy areas should be a priority for the Department, and how the Government might take this forward in the new Parliament.
The Right to Challenge Parking Policies
The Government wants to make it easier for local residents and firms to challenge unfair, disproportionate or unreasonable parking policies. This could include the provision of parking, parking charges and the use of yellow lines.
