ACS Announces Events Line-Up for 2016

ACS is delighted to announce our 2016 line-up of events for retailers and suppliers. Our events are designed to engage and inform our members on everything that’s happening in the convenience sector.

On 11 February, the ACS Technology Showcase will kick off the year by bringing together new and exciting technological innovations that convenience retailers can use in their store. These different products and ideas often have the sole intention of helping retailers with the day to day running of their store and can dramatically improve customers’ shopping experience. Following the Showcase will be one of ACS’ high successful Hosted One 2 Ones events, a  business speed dating experience for convenience retailers that provides networking opportunities with some of the biggest suppliers in the sector.

The ACS Crime Seminar, taking place on 17 of March, will be a jam-packed day revealing the most successful ways to combat criminal activity in-store. In 2014, the convenience sector lost over £35m to theft alone, so it is essential that retailers take all the precautions possible. The event will also see the launch of the 2016 Crime Report, featuring new information about how the sector is dealing with criminal activity. The 2015 Crime Report is available here

On April 19th, ACS is hosting the premier convenience store event of the year at the NEC in Birmingham. Summit 16 will see hundreds of retailers, suppliers, and industry experts from around the globe to look at the future opportunities within the sector and provide essential key insights worth adopting. Summit 16 will feature Chris Gheysens (Wawa), Mike Greene (My Local), Debbie Robinson (SPAR), Henry Dimbleby (Leon) and many more. More information about Summit and our fantastic lineup of speakers is available here.

On 6 of July, the ACS Forecourt Seminar will provide forecourt retailers (and prospective convenience retailers looking to expand and sell fuel) with exciting ideas to implement in store. Last year’s Forecourt Seminar featured over 200 delegates, and we expect this year to be even bigger as we launch our first ever Forecourt Report.

The ACS Local Shop Report Launch on 7 September will unveil the latest edition of ACS’ flagship report, the Local Shop Report, which conveys an in-depth snapshot into the world of convenience retailing, including a detailed look at the innovative services and features offered by modern convenience retailers. The launch will also be followed by a Hosted One 2 Ones event.

Heart of the Community, commencing on 11 October, is ACS’ biggest political event of the year, offering retailers and convenience store stakeholders with unrivalled access to key MPs and Ministers. The event is the best opportunity to raise concerns with Parliamentarians about current key issues currently affecting the sector, including the introduction of the National Living Wage or business rates, and the impact these policies will have on the sector.

Finally, on 22nd November, we will invite retailers to our Responsible Retailing Forum, an opportunity to keep up with the latest changes in retail legislation and hear about new best practice initiatives in the sector.

All of ACS’ events are available to book online now. To secure your attendance, visit http://www.acs.org.uk/events/
