Save the Date for ACS’ 2021 Crime Seminar!

ACS (the Association of Convenience Stores) has confirmed the date for its annual Crime Seminar, which will take place virtually between 10-11.15am on 23rd March 2021.

The event will feature the launch of the 2021 Crime Report, provide the opportunity to hear about best practice from industry experts and explore how the sector is working to tackle crime.

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “Crime is still the biggest operational challenge and faced by local shops, and incidents can have a significant and long-lasting personal impact on the retailers, colleagues and communities involved.

“This event is the perfect opportunity for retailers to come together to share their experiences and get new insights into ways to prevent and tackle crime in and around stores. Our crime survey allows this discussion to be informed by up to date and relevant information.”

Over the last year, crime has been at the forefront of retailers’ minds with new regulations on areas like social distancing and face coverings leading to significant levels of confrontation, violence and abuse of colleagues.

The 2021 Crime Report will address the impact of Covid-19 on the sector, as well as looking at other criminal activity like theft, robberies, burglaries and fraud.
