Peas Please Report Highlights Local Shops’ Commitment to Healthy Eating

ACS has been recognised as a green pledger in the 2022 Peas Please Progress Report, highlighting the valuable role that local shops play in providing their customers with a healthy food provision.

Published today (8th December) the report has revealed that since Peas Please was launched in 2017, 771 million cumulative additional portions of vegetables have been sold or served. The report also outlines the impact that the cost of living crisis is having on the sale of vegetables, noting a drop in sales over the past year as households face increasing cost pressures.

Business Groups Urge Welsh Government to Freeze Business Rates Multiplier

ACS (the Association of Convenience Stores) has signed a letter to the Welsh Finance Minister Rebecca Evans alongside a number of business representatives and trade bodies calling for her to freeze the business rate multiplier in the coming financial year.

The letter has been submitted ahead of the Welsh Government’s Budget which is due to take place on 13th December, which is expected to set the business rate and associated reliefs and thresholds for the 2023-24 financial year.
