More Speakers Announced for Summit20!

Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of RSA, has been announced as the latest speaker for Summit20! Appointed Chief Executive of the RSA in 2006, Matthew Taylor is a regular media performer having appeared several times on the Today programme, The Daily Politics and Newsnight. He has written and presented several Radio Four documentaries and is a panellist on the programme Moral Maze.

He now combines his role at the RSA with working as the interim Director of Labour Market Enforcement, a Government body which seeks to prevent unfair employment practices and educate employers. In 2017, Matthew Taylor led a review of modern working practices for the Government which looked at the future of the labour market and ways to ensure that people are not taken advantage of in the workplace.

Matthew will join Jo Whitfield, Chief Executive of Co-Operative Food in the first session of Summit20, focusing on how the tasks and roles undertaken by colleagues in convenience stores will alter, the way the labour market will change the profile of recruits to the sector, and the needs, priorities and working patterns of colleagues.

In the second session, Summit will look at whether providing a comprehensive food offer for customers is right for everyone in our sector, both now and in the future. Speakers already confirmed for this session include Jonny McQuarrie, Managing Director at One Stop, and Nikki Rogers, Food Solutions Director at AF  Blakemore. We will also once again be journeying around the UK with ACS Commercial Director Paul Chamberlain to seek out some of the best innovations happening right now in a series of exclusive videos debuting at Summit20.

Summit20 is an unmissable event for anyone involved with the convenience sector, bringing together retailers, suppliers, and industry experts from around the world to explore the successes and challenges of the industry and discuss new ideas retailers can walk away with. This year's event takes place on March 31st at the Vox in Birmingham.
