The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has relaunched its Safer Food Means Better Business (SFMB) campaign, reminding convenience retailers of the free support available to help maintain high food safety standards during the busy summer season.
The FSA is offering a range of practical tools to help stores stay compliant and protect customers, including:
- Free online training - including dedicated allergen training
- The Safer Food Better Business pack - practical guidance on food safety management procedures and record-keeping
- Food alerts and recalls - sign up to be notified when products are withdrawn, so you can act fast
- Allergen tools and guidance - particularly useful if you're introducing new product lines for summer
Retailers can download the toolkit via the FSA Brand Hub here.
As part of wider food safety updates, the FSA has also issued refreshed guidance on glycerol levels in slush ice drink which includes specific recommendations relating to children under 10.
