Two Weeks Until the Safe & Responsible Retailing Conference!

There’s just two weeks to go until our Safe and Responsible Retailing Conference, which aims to give you everything you need to know about upcoming regulations that will affect your business this year.

Join us on the 12th March at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre to learn about the latest recycling regulations, equip yourself with important knowledge about the new vaping and tobacco laws, as well as gain exclusive insight into the future of digital proof of age and how it could be adopted in your stores.

We will also be launching our 2025 Crime Report at the conference, which will reveal how crime has affected the convenience sector over the last year. The report will cover the extent of crimes such as theft, abuse, burglary, and fraud against the sector, as well as the best crime prevention measures featuring real examples of how it has successfully reduced crime in store.

Sessions on the day include:

  • Launch of the 2025 Crime Report – How has crime affected the sector over the last year?
  • Reset on Retail Crime – What can retailers do to prevent crime against their business?
  • Vaping and Tobacco – Be ready for the disposable vaping ban and new measures in the Tobacco and Vapes Bill on the 1 June.
  • The Future of Age Verification – Prepare your business for accepting digital ID.

We are delighted to invite Rt Hon Sir David Hanson, the Minister of State at the Home Office to our conference, who will be providing a video message to our audience on the day.

Our expert line-up of speakers includes:

  • Rt Hon Sir David Hanson, Minister of State (video message)
  • Katy Bourne, Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex
  • Sarah Hounsome, Training Co-ordinator, James Hall
  • Dr Andrew O’Brien, Biometrics Product Manager, Innovative Technology
  • Oscar Jaffer, Practice Director, Fujitsu
  • Joanne Cook, Senior Trading Standards Officer, Surrey County Council
  • Iona Blake, Europe Security Manager - Mobility & Convenience, BP
  • Rachel Gray, Behaviour Change Manager, WRAP

We will be concluding our conference at 2:30pm to head over to the amazing Tattu restaurant, located just a little walk away from the theatre, for our unmissable Hosted One2Ones. This speed-dating style event gives retailers and suppliers the chance to have a series of quick-fire networking meetings with each other, to gain insights into each other’s businesses and build valuable relationships. Hosted One2Ones will wrap up at 5pm.
