Save the Date: Heart of the Community 2022!

Save the date for ACS’ Heart of the Community 2022, ACS’ unmissable annual conference taking place at One Great George Street Westminster on 18th October.

This year’s conference will focus on two high priority areas: levelling up and sustainability and this will be explored through industry experts and prominent figures from across retail.

The keynote speaker for this year’s conference has been confirmed as Katy Balls, deputy political editor of the Spectator, who will be providing analysis of the current political landscape and how this affects convenience retailers.

Shadow Secretary of State for DEFRA Jim McMahon has been confirmed to speak on the Labour Party’s policies on the environment and the food industry.

The conference will be followed by an exclusive parliamentary reception at the Houses of Parliament which will provide retailers a chance to network and engage with their local MP to talk about the issues impacting their business.

The finalists for this year’s Raj Aggarwal Trophy, a trophy awarded to retailers who have been exceptional in community retailing and helping their fellow retailers, will be announced at the conference, with the winner announced and the trophy presented at the parliamentary reception. There’s still time to submit your entry for this year’s award, entries must be received by Sarah C Johnson at ACS by 7th September. ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “Heart of the Community is our biggest annual political conference and provides delegates with the opportunity to discuss issues directly with politicians, share their ideas and learn more about community retailing, and network with some of the best retailers in the sector.

“Places at the conference and reception are limited and get booked up, so I would urge all of you to book your place at this fantastic event so that you don’t miss out.”

More details and further speakers will announced in due course.
