The Royal Mint have launched a new survey looking for feedback from the convenience sector about the recent launch of the new £1 coin and arrangements for the co-circulation period, when both the old £1 coin and new £1 coin are in circulation, scheduled to finish on October 18th.
The new £1 coin became legal tender on March 28th 2017. The new 12-sided £1 coin aims to combat counterfeiters by being the most secure of its kind in the world. There are around 45 million counterfeit £1 coins currently in circulation, generating significant cost to industry and taxpayers.
The survey is available here: Industry Readiness Survey 5. The deadline for responses is Friday 23 June 2017.
Responses will be sent to The Royal Mint in confidence.
