Plunkett Foundation Launches Rural Community Business Awards

Community run convenience stores can enter and get involved in the Plunkett Foundation’s Rural Community Business Awards launched today (24th September). The awards aim to celebrate the UK’s finest examples of community-owned pubs, shops and businesses and their amazing contribution to the communities they serve.

Awards will be given for the following categories:

  • Employment & training
  • Environment
  • Re-localisation of produce
  • Technology
  • Volunteering
  • Community Contribution Award
  • Young Person Award

The Plunkett Foundation is calling for all community pubs, shops and businesses, partners and friends to put forward their nominations in order to recognise someone within their community for their efforts as part of their local community-owned project. A judging panel made up of sponsors will come together to select the five Rural Vision Award winners and identify three finalists for the Community Contribution and Young Persons awards.

Award nominations should be submitted by Friday 1st October and winners will be announced at an award ceremony on Thursday 25th November 2021.
