One Week to Go for the Safe and Responsible Retailing Conference

It’s the last chance to book your place at our Safe & Responsible Retailing Conference, which takes place next week on the 12th March at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Starting at 9:00am, the conference will dive into important regulations that will affect your business this year. Come and learn about the new Simpler Recycling regulations and Disposable Vape Ban which comes into implementation on the 1st June. We will also be hosting insightful discussions about the future of digital proof of age, exploring the ways it can be adopted in store.

The conference will also feature the launch of our 2025 Crime Report. This will reveal how crime has affected the convenience sector over the last year, investigating the extent of crimes such as theft, abuse, burglary, and fraud against the sector, as well as the best crime prevention measures that have proved successful in helping retailers reduce crime in store.

The sessions that will be held are as follows:

  • Launch of the 2025 Crime Report – How has crime affected the sector over the last year?
  • Reset on Retail Crime – What can retailers do to prevent crime against their business?
  • Vaping and Tobacco – Be ready for the disposable vaping ban and new measures in the Tobacco and Vapes Bill on the 1 June.
  • The Future of Age Verification – Prepare your business for accepting digital ID.

We are delighted to invite Rt Hon Sir David Hanson, the Minister of State at the Home Office to our conference, who will be providing a video message to our audience on the day.

Our exciting line-up of speakers includes:

  • Rt Hon Sir David Hanson, Minister of State (video message)
  • Katy Bourne, Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex
  • Sarah Hounsome, Training Co-ordinator, James Hall
  • Dr Andrew O’Brien, Biometrics Product Manager, Innovative Technology
  • Oscar Jaffer, Practice Director, Fujitsu

The conference will conclude at 2:30pm and be followed by our unmissable Hosted One2Ones, taking place at the amazing Tattu restaurant which is located just a little walk away from the theatre. This speed-dating style event gives retailers and suppliers the chance to have a series of quick-fire networking meetings with each other, sharing insights about each other’s businesses and building valuable relationships. Hosted One2Ones is open to all retailers, as well as Premier Club and Club suppliers, and will wrap up at 5pm.

There’s only one week left until the conference kicks off, so make sure to book your place for Safe & Responsible Retailing Conference and Hosted One2Ones here: https://www.acs.org.uk/events/safe-and-responsible-retailing-conference-2025-hosted-one2ones
