Home Office Launches 2014 Commercial Victimisation Survey

ACS has called on its members to support the Home Office’s Commercial Victimisation Survey, which provides crucial information to Government on how businesses in England and Wales are affected by crime.

The survey is being carried out on behalf of the Home Office by the independent research organisation TNS BMRB. While participation is voluntary, in order to obtain a true picture of crime against businesses, it is essential that as many of the selected businesses as possible take part in this research, regardless of whether or not they have been a victim of crime. Therefore, if your organisation is selected, the Home Office would be very grateful if you could agree to spend approximately 20 minutes of your time to take part in the survey.

Of the six sectors covered by the 2012 and 2013 Commercial Victimisation Surveys, retailers and wholesalers suffered the most crime, experiencing an average of 38 incidents across all crime types, compared with an average of 24 incidents across all the industry sectors covered. More information about the 2012 and 2013 surveys can be found here.
