Forecourt Retailers to Explore Power, Mobility and Convenience at ACS Conference

Bookings are now open for the ACS’ Power, Mobility and Convenience conference, taking place virtually on 14th September.

This year’s conference will explore the future of power and mobility and will provide the opportunity for delegates to hear from expert speakers as they discuss the issues currently affecting forecourt retailers and issues they may face in the future.

The conference features two sessions. The first will look at the challenges facing the fuel sector when it comes to shifting to alternative power sources like electricity and hydrogen, the way that vehicle manufacturers are planning for a net zero future, and how the UK’s infrastructure is set up to cope with this seismic change. The second session will showcase the best of what UK forecourt shops have to offer, with virtual study tours from leading retailers and a discussion about how forecourt convenience stores can become the store of choice even for customers who aren’t filling up their cars.

Speakers confirmed so far include:

  • Verena Leckebusch, Head of Low Carbon fuels, Department for Transport
  • Tom Callow, Head of Insight and External Affairs, BP
  • Michelle Levett, Head of Retail, Rontec
  • Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders
  • Edward Woodall, Government Relations Director, ACS

The event will also feature virtual study tours with:

  • Joe Hockenhull, The Stage,  Hockenhull Garages
  • Eurospar, Henderson Retail, Doagh

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “There are huge challenges - and opportunities - coming down the road for retailers with stores on petrol forecourts. We are excited to be able to bring industry experts and retailers together through this virtual conference to explore the future of power and mobility and what this means for our sector.”
