Dentsu Tobacco Track and Trace System Goes Live

Dentsu Tobacco Track and Trace System Goes Live

The UK tobacco track and trace system has now completed its transition from previous IT provider De La Rue (DLR) to a new provider called Dentsu as of 1st July 2022.

As part of this transition, Dentsu has automatically transferred existing businesses and their existing identifier codes to their system ahead of 1st July. Retailers will have received email communications between 20th June and 1st July retailers that provide registration details for the live Dentsu UK track and trace system. Retailers who have deleted these emails and need to retrieve their information can do so by contacting [email protected].

Retailers can sign into their account here and can use this link to register any new business, facilities or store and make changes to their existing registrations.

Since 20th May 2019, tobacco manufacturers have been required to provide unique identifier codes on cigarettes and hand-rolling tobacco products. Cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco must also be tracked through the supply chain. This means that distributors, wholesalers and retailers with distribution centres are required to scan these products in and out of their warehouses.

More information about the system change, including a video briefing, is available on ACS’ Member Portal here.

If you have any questions about the changes, please contact [email protected].
