Book Your Place at ACS’ Crime Seminar!

Book your place at the ACS Crime Seminar, taking place on 10th March, from 9:30am to 12pm at the Conrad St James Hotel in Westminster.

The Crime Seminar will begin with the launch of ACS’ Crime Report 2020 and will give an exclusive first look at the findings before a discussion with a panel of police, retailers and industry experts.

We will hear from experts in the convenience sector and other industries about innovative crime prevention and colleague safety measures. The seminar will explore key actions needed from government to prevent retail crime and violence to protect staff working in the sector.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Ian Dyson, Commissioner of the City of London Police, Business Crime Lead
  • Stuart Toogood, Drug Rehabilitation and Offender support, West Midlands Police
  • Doug Russell, Health and Safety Officer, USDAW
  • Colin Jelliff, Security and Licensing Consultant, McDonald’s
  • Saskia Garner, Policy and Development Manager, Suzy Lamplugh Trust
  • James Lowman, Chief Executive, ACS
  • Ed Woodall, Head of Policy and Public Affairs, ACS
  • Eleanor O’Connell, Public Affairs Executive, ACS

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “The Crime Seminar is the perfect opportunity for retailers to share best practice about preventing and tackling crime in store. The event will explore not only the issue of crime in the sector but the effect that these incidents have on the people working in store and the action that needs to be taken to support and protect them. We would encourage all retailers to come along to this event to be a part of the discussion about crime in the convenience sector.”

The Seminar will be followed by a Parliamentary Reception from 12.30pm to 3pm in the Churchill Room, House of Commons. The reception will bring the retail industry together for a collective call to end violence against shopworkers.
