ACS Summit20: Introducing ‘How to…’ Sessions

Summit20 is an unmissable event for anyone involved with the convenience sector, bringing together retailers, suppliers, and industry experts from around the world to explore the successes and challenges of the industry and discuss new ideas retailers can walk away with.

This year's event, taking place on March 31st at the Vox in Birmingham, will focus on two of the biggest questions facing the convenience sector in the future, looking at whether convenience stores are primarily food retailers, and how the role of colleagues is changing in store.

In the afternoon, there will be ‘How to…’ breakout sessions looking in depth at how retailers are delivering on challenges like local sourcing and reducing packaging. The sessions will be chaired by an ACS team member and offer the chance to participate in a debate on a range of topics.

The four sessions are:

  • How to... make your local produce a star like Southern Co-op
  • How to... tailor your retail offer like Costcutter
  • How to... stand out through branding and design like SimplyFresh
  • How to... reduce plastic packaging like Thornton’s Budgens

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “We are pleased to be able to run these breakout sessions which are designed to help retailers get a better understanding of a specific topic and discuss the opportunities and challenges that these present. As a sector we can learn a lot from each other and this is the perfect chance for retailers to get together and talk about what’s happening in the sector and what works in their business.”
