ACS Reminds Retailers about Industry Leading Assured Advice Guides

ACS (the Association of Convenience Stores) is reminding retailers about its industry leading Assured Advice guides on a number of key areas of regulatory compliance affecting local shops, including: selling vapes, HFSS regulations and preventing underage sales.

The Selling Vapes Responsibly guide includes everything that retailers need to know to recognise legitimate products, as well as the age verification policies that should be in place to ensure that products are only sold to those who are legally allowed to purchase them.

ACS has developed guidance for convenience retailers on the HFSS regulations coming into force in England. The guide provides an overview of which retailers are impacted, where HFSS products can be displayed in store and how these regulations are enforced. The full guide and a list of FAQs is available here.

The Preventing Underage Sales guide outlines how to manage the sale of age restricted products, Challenge25, proxy sales, proof of age and record keeping. The full guidance is available here.

ACS Assured Advice is free for ACS members. All of ACS’ Assured Advice guides and information about how to sign up for the scheme is available here: https://www.acs.org.uk/advice
