ACS: Get Involved with Small Business Saturday 2018!

ACS is encouraging convenience store retailers to get involved in Small Business Saturday 2018, taking place on December 1st.

Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots campaign which actively encourages shoppers to ‘shop local’ and support the small businesses in their local communities. The campaign is now in its sixth year and aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.

Last year’s campaign was the most successful yet, and highlights included:

  • Customers spent an estimated £748m in small businesses on Small Business Saturday
  • More than 115,000 tweets were sent on the day with the official #SmallBizSatUK hashtag reaching 115 million people and trending at number one in the UK
  • Over 87% of local authorities actively supported the campaign, from hosting small business events to providing free parking on the day

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “We are delighted to support Small Business Saturday in their mission of providing support to small businesses who serve their local communities.

“The campaign highlights the vital role that these businesses play in their communities and we would urge everyone to get involved on December 1st.”

For more information, visit the Small Business Saturday website, where retailers can register their business to be included on the national Small Business Finder, as well as access marketing packs for the day.
