ACS (the Association of Convenience Stores) is encouraging retailers to get involved with this year’s Great British Spring Clean.
The Great British Spring Clean 2019 is taking place from 22nd March- 23rd April. Last year, over 370,000 people collected 650,000 bags of rubbish across Great Britain and this year the aim is to get over half a million people involved in the campaign.
ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “Ensuring that our high streets and local neighbourhoods are free of litter encourages community activity and strengthens town centres. Research from our 2018 Local Shop Report found that 81% of independent retailers were involved in some form of community activity in the past year, demonstrating the positive contribution that convenience stores make to the communities that they serve.”
Retailers who would like to get involved with the campaign can download a free Coca Cola European Partners ‘Guide to Hosting a Community Clean-Up’ by visiting the sustainability section of their website www.cokecustomerhub.co.uk. Those who share their experiences once completed will be in with the chance of winning £1,000 for a local charity or cause of their choice. More information can be found here: www.cokecustomer.co.uk
