ACS: Entries Open for the 2022 Raj Aggarwal Trophy to Celebrate Outstanding Community Retailers

Entries are open for this year’s Raj Aggarwal Trophy, a trophy awarded to retailers who have been exceptional in community retailing and helping their fellow retailers.

The trophy was first launched in 2021 to mark the legacy of independent retailer Raj Aggarwal.

Applications are welcome from any convenience store operator, independent retailers and managers of multiple-owned outlets and you can also nominate a retailer who you think is deserving of the award.

To enter, applicants must submit a short film (maximum 5 minutes), which will show:

  • What they have done in the past year to support their local community
  • What they have done in the past year to support fellow retailers

The judges are: Sunita Aggarwal, Owner Spar Winston and Raj’s wife; Jonathan James – Managing Director – James Convenience Retail; Avtar Sidhu – Owner – Budgens Kenilworth; and James Lowman – Chief Executive – ACS.

The films will be judged using the following criteria:

  • Engagement of colleagues in conceiving and delivering activity
  • Impact on local community
  • Sustainability of activity
  • Overall work to support other retailers

Entries must be received by Sarah C Johnson at ACS by 7th September.

You can find more information about the trophy, including video submissions from last year’s finalists and overall winner Julie Duhra on our Member Portal here.
