I have two stores, Trelander Stores & Post Office and The old Dairy- Pydar Stores. We have had Trelander for twenty- three years and developed the Old Dairy eleven years ago. Both stores trade under the Spar Symbol. The focus has always been on good service and creating stores within the community that customers can trust. One of the most misguided perceptions of Cornwall is that there is tremendous wealth across the county; this is not the case. Trelander is in one of the most deprived areas in Cornwall. We work tirelessly to present our stores as welcoming, safe, inclusive spaces.

What part of your store are you most proud of?
Our hot food. Our mission statement is to provide good quality food every day.
Nothing pleases me more than to stand still, and observe how busy the section is. I have written before that it is almost balletic the way that the staff work behind the counter serving around two thousand customers a week. It is hard work and the behind the scenes cleaning, ordering and ideas process is intense.
