RH AMAR AIMS TO SPREAD SOME CHEER WITH FINE FOOD PARCELS FOR HIGH WYCOMBE NHS KEY WORKERS

High Wycombe-based fine food distributor RH Amar has been aiming to spread some cheer by donating fine food parcels to local NHS workers on the frontline of the town’s battle against Covid-19.

The company, which is based in Turnpike Way, has so far delivered 80 cases of mixed fine foods, and two cases of Ella’s Kitchen baby food, to staff at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The fine food parcels – each containing a mix of fine ambient foods from brands that RH Amar distributes to supermarkets and wholesalers nationwide – will be passed on to Trust staff to say thank you for all their hard work. The baby food donation will go to the Trust’s nursery for the children of staff.

RH Amar MD Rob Amar said: “As a food business specialising in ambient food and drink since 1945, one of the things we can do for our key workers at this time is to say thank you by donating food from the brands we represent.

“It’s a small gesture, but we just wanted to express our gratitude for the amazing job they are doing for the people of High Wycombe at this challenging time in our town’s history.”

The company’s donation is among a series of commitments that RH Amar is making within Buckinghamshire and beyond as it looks to increase its supply of stocks to good causes, including to support the government and councils’ support of thousands of families nationwide. This includes supplying 120,000 cans of Del Monte tinned fruit to go into Defra food parcels for the clinically vulnerable.

The company is also supplying Project Wingman - a new scheme under which airline crew are supporting the well-being of frontline NHS staff during the COVID-19 outbreak – with healthy break time snacks for NHS workers in 30 hospitals around the UK.

“2020 is our 75th anniversary year and, whilst it’s clearly not the time to celebrate, it is most definitely the right time to live up to the values we have held since 1945 of always doing business the right way, adds Rob. “That means making a difference to the communities that we serve, including here in High Wycombe.”
