ACS’ unmissable political conference will bring together over 200 retailers and will address sustainability for local shops and the emerging politics which will impact stores beyond the pandemic.

Ben Page, Ipsos MORI chief executive, has been confirmed to address the conference and will explore the changing political landscape. Ben has worked with Conservative and Labour Ministers in Downing Street to examine consumer trends and public behaviour.

The agenda includes:

  • Net Zero Convenience – making net zero happen: steps for local shops
  • Shops for Future Communities – insights on changing communities
  • Retail Community Champions – a discussion with the finalists of the Raj Aggarwal Trophy

Retail Minister Paul Scully MP has been confirmed to speak at the parliamentary reception following ACS’ Heart of the Community conference. The Minister will outline the Government’s plan for local shops and present the Raj Aggarwal Award for exceptional community retailing.

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “This year’s Heart of the Community will bring together retailers, policy makers and thought leaders to explore the role of local shops in the community and wider economy and will look to the future about how upcoming policy changes will affect the sector.

“We are delighted that Ben Page will be addressing the conference to explore the changing political landscape and what this means for businesses and consumers.”
