Mental Health Therapy Support from GroceryAid

GroceryAid is reminding colleagues about its programme aimed at providing insight, advice and actions for those struggling with their mental health.  

The service offers an anonymous, safe and secure space for users to learn and develop, empowering people to manage their own mental and behavioural health. Working with SilverCloud this service will offer a personal, flexible and accessible online space to help with anxiety.

Research from Mind shows that one in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year and that by 2020 depression will be the second most common cause of ill health worldwide.

Mind, the mental health charity, added that 40% of employers view workers with mental health problems as a 'significant risk' and that while stress has forced one in five workers to call in sick, 95% gave a different reason to their employer. With managers saying they want to do more to improve staff mental wellbeing, finding a way to help is crucial. However, there is often not much guidance on how to cope. 

SilverCloud is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and offers support to deal with stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and chronic illness. The service is extremely user friendly, giving you complete control. The content aims to be motivational, easy to use and interactive; helping you manage the way they think. There is also a library of interactive and engaging programmes.

How does the programme work?

As with any form of counselling offered through GroceryAid, an assessment will be completed before access to SilverCloud is made available. 

Eligibility criteria and requirements:

  • available to grocery colleagues, their spouses, partners or dependents

  • access to a computer, tablet or smartphone 

  • be able to demonstrate commitment to the programme

An adviser at the GroceryAid Helpline will support  you with your SilverCloud programme. They'll help you select the most relevant sections to follow and can offer ongoing reviews and feedback if you wish. This is available via online communication at pre-arranged times.
