Book Your Place at the 2017 Local Shop Report Launch and Hosted One to Ones

We are now just weeks away from the launch of the 2017 Local Shop Report and Hosted One2Ones event in Manchester.

ACS’ flagship report will be launching on 6th September at Hotel Football, providing a detailed look at the reasons behind the continuing success of the convenience sector and exploring the innovative services and features offered by stores to their local communities.

The 2017 Local Shop Report is the sixth edition of the report and will build on the data presented in the previous editions to highlight the areas of growth and development that we have seen over recent years. The Local Shop Report is an essential read for anyone with an interest in the convenience sector, whether from a retail, supplier, academic or political background, and the launch event will provide an exclusive first look at this year’s data.

The report brings together information from established industry experts such as HIM, IGD, Nielsen and William Reed Business Media with new research designed and commissioned by ACS. Collectively, this data provides our richest ever picture of the economic and social value of local shops.

This year’s launch event will feature two panel sessions inviting senior leaders in the sector to talk about what the findings mean for their businesses and the overall convenience market.

Speakers already confirmed include:

  • Nick Codling (Nielsen)
  • Guy Ousey (IGD)
  • Harriet English (the Plunkett Foundation),
  • David Roberts (The Co-Operative)
  • Susan Connolly (SPAR retailer)
  • Blake Gladman (HIM)

Immediately following the launch, retailers and suppliers will come together for the Hosted One 2 Ones event. This is a ‘business speed dating’ experience for convenience retailers to create new and exciting relationships with some of the biggest suppliers to the sector.

The ‘dates’ are short and sharp, lasting only eight minutes each, providing you with just enough time to understand the supplier’s brand and for the supplier to learn about your store. The mini meetings allow you to see around fifteen suppliers in the day.
