ACS: Summit19 the Unmissable Conference!

ACS: Summit19 the Unmissable Conference!

Taking place today in Birmingham, Summit19 is the definitive convenience event which provides fantastic opportunities to connect with new people in the industry and gain insight about the future of our sector.

This year’s Summit consists of two sessions:

Session One: How are products going to reach the consumer? The UK’s 46,000 convenience stores reach into more communities than any other business sector, providing a truly local shop for millions of consumers. With customers constantly redefining convenience for consumers, what role will our sector play? This session will investigate the trends and developments changing the retail supply chain and how consumers purchase products.

Session Two: What is the product offer of the future? Convenience stores are agile, changing their offer to meet the needs of their local communities and take advantage of emerging trends. This session will look at what convenience stores could be selling in the future, and how these products and services will make the sector even more relevant to the lives of consumers.

Speakers include:

  • Harry Walker, Industry Head – Retail at Google
  • Andy Cresswell, Chief Retail Officer, Bestway
  • Jonathan James, Owner, James Convenience Retail
  • Ken Towle, Chief Executive Officer, Nisa Retail
  • Jackie Mackenzie, MD Group Functions (Interim), SPAR UK
  • An exclusive video with retailers Paul Stone and Dan Cock
  • Scene-setting analysis from ACS Chief Executive James Lowman and Commercial Director Paul Chamberlain

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be holding another successful Summit full of stimulating and interesting debates about our sector. Our conference this year focuses on changing consumer behaviour in the way they want to access products and services and how our sector is responding to this through an evolving grocery offer.

“This event will kick off a number of important discussions about how we can work together to secure our position as a relevant and dynamic sector.”

The main sponsor of Summit19 is Michael Page, and supporting sponsors are Christie & Co, COOK, Suresite and Shopt.
