ACS to Share Ideas with Specialist Food Shops at Fine Food Show North

ACS chief executive James Lowman will share insights from the c-store sector with specialist deli and farm shop operators at Fine Food Show North, the three-day trade show at Harrogate’s Yorkshire Event Centre in February.

Lowman will join a panel of retail experts including ex-Selfridges buyer Scott Winston and food regulation lawyer Gaile Walters of LawBites for a free, two-hour retail workshop, Q&A and mentoring session.

It’s the second year running that ACS has taken part in the show, previously known as Harrogate Fine Food Show. In 2017, commercial director Paul Chamberlain gave a presentation on international store design trends.

Fine Food Show North is run by the Guild of Fine Food, an affinity member of ACS and the organisation behind the widely recognised Great Taste award scheme.

The event, from Sunday 11th to Tuesday 13th February, features around 140 small, regional and speciality food & drink exhibitors, alongside a programme of workshops, advices sessions, cookery demos and tastings. BBC MasterChef food critic and broadcaster Jay Rayner is the show’s special guest on Monday 12th

The retail workshop will take place at midday on Tuesday 13th, and admission is free for ACS members who pre-register for the show.

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “With lines between different formats in retail and foodservice becoming blurred it’s good to be engaging with other sectors.  More and more c-stores are making space for regional and high-end brands, partly to gain a point of difference and partly because prices are less sensitive.”
