ACS Chairman Previews Local Shop Report on TV and Radio

Ahead of the official launch of the 2014 Local Shop Report tomorrow, ACS Chairman Jonathan James appeared on television and radio this morning to discuss the findings of the report, which reveal continued growth in the convenience sector.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Jonathan James told business correspondent Steph McGovern: “The corner shop of 20 years ago is not the convenience store of today. Modern stores offer a diverse range of services, providing everything from bill payment to cash machines and hot food to go. The sector has responded incredibly well to changing consumer habits, and independent retailers are well placed to continue their success in the future.”

The Local Shop Report will be officially launched tomorrow at an exclusive event in Birmingham. Places are free for ACS members – for more information about booking your place, please contact the Commercial team on 01252 515001.

Jonathan James also appeared on BBC Five Live’s Wake Up to Money programme and the Today programme on Radio Four.
