ACS Announces 2018 Technology Showcase Finalists

The Association of Convenience Stores is delighted to announce the line-up of speakers that have been chosen to present at the Technology Showcase on 20th February at the Library of Birmingham. Showcasing some of the newest technology in the sector, the ACS Technology Showcase aims to provide insight into a rapidly changing sector and enable retailers to understand how technology can be used to improve and grow their business. The 2018 Technology Showcase will feature IGD’s Guy Ousey, who will kick off the event with an overview of technology in the retail and convenience sectors.

The finalists for the 2018 Technology Showcase, who will present their innovations to an audience of leading retailers on the day are:

  • Ubamarket - The revolutionary in-store retail app which guides shoppers to their items, enables them to scan as they shop, provides automatic loyalty and has a rapid in-app payment system (http://ubamarket.com/)
  • Bolt Learning - Provide online training modules contain engaging, interactive real-life scenarios and role-plays e.g. how to deal with difficult customers, identifying different unlawful ID, how to upsell.   • Post Office - Pygmalios (a Post Office partner) provides customer movement analytics data. It provides a detailed view of how exactly customers utilise the shopping area, how they interact with the product areas and the store’s layout in general.   • EKW - EKW’s advanced software solution, Fusion BI, gives retailers access to business data and an insight into all areas of your organisation and allows you to monitor your business performance on one dashboard.  These reports are not just based around financial results, they can incorporate a firm’s core beliefs and targets, for example marketing data, staff retentions.   • PayPoint - PayPoint One is a multi-functional retail services hub, to attract & serve customers and run their stores efficiently and profitably from anywhere.   • Velocity Worldwide - Velocity Worldwide’s Darius for Retail is personalization and insight technology that drives more visits, engages customers and grows sales for bricks and mortar retailers. Each of the finalists will have ten minutes to present their technology solution before taking part in a question and answer session with the audience. There will also be a panel of retailers discussing how the latest innovations that are coming to convenience are being implemented at store level.
