Ed Chadwick, Director EV and Strategic Projects, Motor Fuel Group

Ed has worked as a director of strategic projects at MFG since joining the business in 2018. He is currently focused on delivering MFG’s EV roll-out. Prior to joining MFG, Ed worked at Wowcher & LivingSocial Ltd as a general manager and executive team member until its acquisition by Exponent Private Equity from DMGT.

Professor Sabine Benoit, University of Surrey

In February 2016 Professor Sabine Benoit (nee Moeller) joined the University of Surrey as a Professor of Marketing. She is a member of the Department of Retail and Marketing at Surrey Business School.

Her main research fields are Service- and Retail-Marketing. Her work has been published in leading international Journals e.g. the Journal of Service Research, Journal of Operations Management and Psychology & Marketing. She is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Service Research (JSR), Journal of Service Management (JoSM), Journal of Services Marketing (JSM), Journal of Service Theory and Practice (JSTP) and Journal of Business Research (JBR). From JoSM she received the best reviewer award in 2013. She has taught and teaches courses in Marketing, Services & Retail Marketing and Research Methods on Bachelor, Master, MBA and Ph.D. Level.

Emma Butcher, Head of Communications, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders

Ian Taylor, Retail Director, SPAR UK

Ian joined SPAR in 2012 as its Head of Retail, before being promoted to the position of Retail Director in 2016. Ian is responsible for SPAR’s retail strategy, format development, national accounts and retailer engagement.

Since joining SPAR in 2012, Ian has worked hard to bring his passion and expertise in format development to the business, creating new, award-winning store formats for SPAR, focusing on fresh foods, food to go and petrol forecourts. His expertise in macro space allocation and foodservice has helped drive the business forward and shape SPAR’s retail strategy.

With more than 30 years’ experience in retail, Ian started his career with the Co-operative Group before rising through the retail ranks, gaining a MBA in Retailing, to become Commercial Director of the Co-operative’s farming business – the largest in the UK.

David Colley, Retailer, Dale Head Community Garage

David was Network Director of Mercury One2One. He was responsible for building the UK’s first digital mobile personal communications network. Following this, he took up the position of Chief Executive Officer of Videotron, one of the UK’s largest cable broadband network operators. After leading the sale of Videotron to Cable and Wireless, David became the founding Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ono, building it into Spain’s second-largest telecommunications operator after Telefonica. Leaving in 2002, David became Chief Executive Officer of ACN Networks Inc., a pan- European service provider based in Amsterdam. David retired in 2005 and now devotes his time to non-executive board positions, hobbies and community projects.

Edward Woodall, Government Relations Director, ACS

Ed joined ACS in September 2009 having graduated from Roehampton University in 2007. As Government Relations Director Ed is responsible for communicating ACS’ policy positions across Westminster, Whitehall and the devolved nations with civil servants, parliamentarians and external stakeholders. Ed consults with ACS members through ACS’ Policy Committee and Expert Policy Groups to develop policy positions and the organisation's public affairs strategy.

Ed has given evidence to numerous parliamentary committees in Westminster and devolved nations and contributes to policy developments across a range of government working groups including the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and the Home Office.

Ed completed the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Diploma in Public Relations in 2013. Ed is currently studying for his MBA at Surrey Business School.
