Conference25

Conference25 will return to the Vox in Birmingham on 8th April 2025, co-located with the National Convenience Show at the NEC.
Conference25 is the main event of the convenience calendar, bringing together over 500 retailers, suppliers and industry experts to shape the future of the sector. We've got leading speakers, expert panels, innovative retailers, and a few surprises along the way - make sure you're part of it!
Agenda
At Conference25, we'll be presenting two engaging sessions that will aim to get everyone thinking differently about the way that they do business in the convenience sector.
Session One - 'Listen'
In the first session, 'Listen', we'll be exploring ways that leading retailers listen to what their existing and potential customers want and need, and how does that turn into actionable insight that can be used to become more relevant than ever to customers' lives.
9.30am - Introduction by ACS chief executive James Lowman
Short film from Howard Stoeckel, WaWa
Keynote speaker Greg Williams, WIRED
Followed by three short films:

In the second session of the day, we'll be turning our attention to how retailers can 'Act' in response to forces that are impacting the convenience sector. Here we will showcase the speed at which retailers can adapt their businesses and the ideas that will change retailing in the future. In this session we will hold the first ever Ideas Battle with Sarah C Johnson and two teams of award winning independent retailers - more on the Ideas Battle below!
This session will feature four exciting short films, featuring:
- Julian Smith, Unitas
- Simon Eastwood, Southern Co-op

The films will be followed by a panel session which will include Debbie Robinson (Central Co-op), Nathalie Fullerton (One Stop) and James Badger (Morrisons)
We'll then close the Conference with some reflections from independent board chair Jonathan James and main board chair Ramesh Shingadia, and preview our exclusive 30th anniversary dinner where we'll celebrate some of the people that have made an enormous contribution to both ACS and the wider convenience sector since ACS' inception in 1995.

Conference25 Ideas Battle: Meet the Teams!
Ahead of Conference25, we've brought together two teams of the most innovative and competitive independent retailers in the UK to do battle at the Vox.

30th Anniversary Dinner
On the evening of Conference25, we'll be coming together for a special celebration of 30 years since the formation of the Association of Convenience Stores. In that time, ACS has become a strong and effective voice for its members, a trusted source of advice, and the industry’s pre-eminent network of businesses and people.
We want to celebrate and recognise some of the people who have been instrumental in ACS' successes over the last 30 years and their wider contribution to the convenience sector, as well as looking ahead to those that will shape our sector in the years to come.
This exclusive event is invite only and will be held at The Vox, NEC, Birmingham. Pre-dinner drinks will start at 6.30pm, we will sit for dinner at 7.30pm.
