Labour: Ed Miliband’s Speech On 2015 Election Campaign

Ed Miliband gave a speech on Monday (5th January) in Salford, beginning Labour’s campaign ahead of the 2015 General Election. In his speech he highlighted the measures Labour would take that would affect small businesses. These measures include:

  • Raising the minimum wage to £8 an hour over the course of the next parliament,
  • Tackling zero-hours contracts.
  • Cutting business rates in 2015 and freezing them in 2016.

These measures have been previously announced by Labour and are likely to form part of their manifesto when it will be released closer to the General Election.
