Book Now for the ACS Crime Seminar and Crime Report Launch

The Minister for Preventing Abuse, Exploitation and Crime, Karen Bradley will address this year’s ACS Crime Seminar which will take place on Thursday 17th March at Methodist Central Hall, London.

Last year the sector lost over £35m to theft alone, so it’s essential that retailers take precautions to safeguard store profits. The seminar will hear from industry experts about how to successfully tackle retail crime and will also provide networking opportunities for retailers.

Confirmed speakers at the Crime Seminar include:

  • Karen Bradley MP, Minister for Preventing Abuse, Exploitation and Crime
  • Jack Dromey MP, Shadow Police Minister
  • Guto Bebb MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Retail Crime
  • Glyn Gaskarth, Head of Crime and Justice Unit, Policy Exchange
  • Nicola Pick, National Business Crime Solutions
  • Lisa Perretta, Business Crime Manager, Business Crime Reduction Partnership for Brighton & Hove
  • Georgie Barnard, TP Crime Reduction & Partnerships, Metropolitan Police Service
  • Bob Saxon, Security Manager, One Stop
  • Gareth Lewis, Loss Prevention & Security Services Manager The Southern Co-operative
  • Julian Taylor-Green, Independent Retailer

The Seminar will also feature the launch of the 2016 ACS Crime Report.

Like last year, the Crime Report will include results on incidences of crime, the cost of crime, investment into crime prevention measures, as well as providing information on crimes such as shop theft, employee theft, violence and verbal abuse and robbery and burglary. The report will also again include the ACS Crime Guidance on triggers for violence and verbal abuse, and preventing theft from self-scan tills. For the 2015 Crime Report, click here.

The 2016 report will include a new section on the results of Fraud, including counterfeit bank notes, refund fraud, debit and credit card fraud in the sector.

The Crime Report will hold all results from our Crime Survey, which was based on a sample from 23 businesses, totalling 7031 stores.

The Crime Seminar is free to attend for all ACS Members.
