Security Showcase 2019

This event provides retailers with the opportunity to hear from experts about the latest developments in crime prevention equipment and how it could be used in their business.

This year’s Showcase will focus on three key themes:

  • Protecting People
  • Theft, Robbery and Burglary
  • Fraud and Internal Theft

The following companies have been shortlisted to demonstrate their product or service at the event:

  • Electromech: A cost-effective cyber solution backed by (GCHQ) Government Central Headquarters and the (NCSC) National Cyber Security Centre
  • G4S: End-to-end cash solution specially put together for retailers
  • Navarra Retail Systems: A range of vending solutions designed to reduce theft
  • Facewatch: Cloud-based facial recognition security system safeguards businesses against crime
  • SECOM: Safety and intelligence solution using remotely monitored CCTV to deter or capture habitual offenders in retail stores through innovative use of CCTV and skilled analysis
  • CBE: An EPoS solution providing fuel retailers the security of having an integration with a DVR system directly to the POS unit

Edward Woodall, ACS

Edward is ACS Head of Policy and Public Affairs and represents the sector within Parliament and Government on the policy issues that matter to local shops, including business rates, employment costs, deposit return schemes, retail crime, product regulation and many more.

Paul Chamberlain, ACS

Internationally acclaimed as the most prolific convenience store visitor worldwide, Paul’s extensive industry knowledge allows him to organise the most topical and relevant events to provide networking and sharing of best practice across the sector. As Commercial Director at ACS, Paul’s role is to understand the issues which impact upon the long-term success and relevance of the convenience sector.  Bringing together retailers and suppliers in a meaningful way to share experiences that can deliver this long-term growth.

Gareth Lewis, Loss Prevention and Security Services Manager, Southern Co-op

Joe Williams, Independent Retailer

Joe is a partner of The Village Shop & Post Office in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire together with his parents who have run the store for the last 27 years. The store is 1,250 sq. ft. in the centre of the village, trading with Blakemore as an independent fascia store, also incorporating a florist.

National Business Crime Centre

The National Business Crime Centre was created as a result of a Home Office Police Transformation Funding. We are overseen by Commissioner Ian Dyson, City of London Police, who is the NPCC lead for Business Crime.  We work closely with other NPCC portfolio holders including Assistant Commissioner Alistair Sutherland who holds the Private Security portfolio. The centre is hosted within the Metropolitan Police Service.

National Cyber Security Centre

We support the most critical organisations in the UK, the wider public sector, industry, SMEs as well as the general public. When incidents do occur, we provide effective incident response to minimise harm to the UK, help with recovery, and learn lessons for the future.
