Victim Statements

If your business was the victim of a crime and you told the police, you can make an Impact Statement for Business (ISB).

By making an ISB, you can describe how the crime has affected the business. Examples may include:

  • money lost
  • stolen goods
  • property damage
  • loss of custom

The court can use the ISB when deciding on a sentence for the offender.

More information is available here.

Who can make an Impact Statement for Business (ISB)?

Any business or enterprise (including charities) can make an ISB.

Only one person from the business should make the statement. Usually, that will be the director, manager or owner. That person does not have to be a witness to the crime, but they may need to give evidence in court.
