    • EU Prohibits Manufacture of 60 Watt Light Bulbs

    • As of midnight on September 1st 2011, the manufacture of 60 watt light bulbs will be prohibited in the UK. Retailers will still be able to sell the bulbs until their stocks run out, but they will be prohibited from receiving any more orders.

    • Project Merlin SME Lending on Track

    • The Bank of England released second quarter lending figures today with details of lending to small businesses. Under Project Merlin major UK banks agreed to lend £190 billion new credit to businesses in 2011 with £76 million going to small businesses.
