The Environment Forum is a new forum from ACS and will focus on looking at how the sector can best respond to the environmental challenge, whether it be plastic bags, food miles or energy efficiency you will hear operational tips from experts of how to implement changes that will reduce your impact on the environment.

Ultimately, the aim of the Environment Forum is to help you understand what you can do as a retailer and how you can tackle the requirement to make your business ‘greener’. There are many practical tips and ways of getting ahead in the sector that can be gleaned from this forum.

- The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will be presenting research on consumer attitudes to environmental issues, as well as research carried out into greenhouse gas emissions in the retail industry
- John Curran from Musgrave Ireland will be discussing their plastic bag policy and the impact it has had on consumers and consumer spending.
- Alison Ward from Cadbury will discuss the challenges facing food manufacturers and explain their approach to environmental issues.
- The Co-op will give their perspective on environmental retailing.
