Community Heroes 2008 - Still Time to Enter!

08 Feb 2008

ACS are still looking for entries for the Community Heroes Award 2008. Now in its third year, the award impacts the convenience store sector in a very positive way by rewarding retailers who perform to high standards within their sector, setting the benchmark for small retail outlets nationwide.

Entries for the awards are encouraged from retailers who can demonstrate that they and their store staff have achieved something that has made a real difference to their community within the last year.

ACS is asking as many retailers as possible to enter the competition. Three finalists will be chosen by a panel of industry experts. Once shortlisted the winner will be decided in an online vote by visitors to the ACS website, where there will be a page dedicated to each of the finalists telling you why you should vote for them.

All three finalists will be awarded a free ticket to ACS Summit at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 24th April 2008, and the winner will be announced at the Gala dinner following the conference.

ACS Chief Executive, James Lowman said; “Being at the heart of the community is what makes convenience store retailing special. People like last year’s winners, the Lovells, are a shining beacon for the sector. ACS is delighted to be able to recognise that and grateful to P&G for making it possible. We expect to find yet more community heroes this year.”

Along with the honour of being crowned Community Hero 2008, the winner will be awarded a cheque for the sum of £1000.
