New Government Takes Shape as Conservative/Liberal Coalition

12 May 2010
After five days of intense discussions between the three major parties, the new Government is starting to take shape in the form of a Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition. The new Prime Minister David Cameron took office late last night after the swift resignation of Gordon Brown from his role as both Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party.
The new Prime Minister, who is likely to announce a number of policy concessions for the Liberal Democrats today, has appointed Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg as his Deputy Prime Minister. Mr Clegg’s appointment is the most senior Liberal government position for 95 years.
James Lowman ACS Chief Executive said: “As the new Government takes shape, ACS is ready to work with them to share our agenda for fairer business, tackling crime and reducing business costs.”
