New Law on Employing Foreign Workers
28 Feb 2008
Tomorrow (29th February 2008) a new law, the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act, will come into force. It covers the employment of foreign workers requiring small businesses to understand and act on up to thirteen different forms of identification when employing foreign workers, including recognising the passports of 27 EU member states. The new laws have been criticised as complex and the sanctions on business are seen as excessive.
