ACS Events to Watch Out For in 2010
2009 has been a highly successful year for ACS, with a number of events exceeding all expectations.
Throughout the year, retailers and suppliers have been able to get their voices heard on a variety of platforms, from the various forums that have been run, covering topics like Crime Prevention and Respnsible Retailing, to the Heart of the Community event in November, where the Heart of the Community Campaign was launched in the presence of MPs and retailers alike.
As 2010 approaches, here are some of the ACS events to watch out for in the new year.
Convenience Retailing Show (21-24 March)
The Convenience Retailing Show (CRS) is the place to meet all suppliers in the convenience industry, from symbol groups to sandwich and snack suppliers; from refrigeration companies to greetings card companies.
CRS has gone from strength to strength with an increase in visitor numbers of 15% in 2009, plus the successful launch of Café+ @ CRS, attracting cafes, sandwich bars and coffee shops.
Summit 2010 (5 May)
Summit is ACS’ flagship event and the biggest and best event of its kind in the convenience sector. This year Summit attracted 400 delegates representing retailers and suppliers from across the industry.
Summit 2010 however, looks to be bigger and better than this year - with media personality Angela Rippon, risk expert Caspar Berry and Tim Schmitt from the Eden Project already confirmed.
Heart of the Community 2010 (2 November)
Heart of the Community 2009 was a resounding success and featured the launch of the Heart of the Community campaign.
The campaign champions the voice of retailers from across the sector, and is currently in the process of lobbying for major
changes in retail legislation.
Next year's event looks to be even bigger, and coming in the aftermath of a general election is set to be the best platform for retailers to make a real difference to Government decision making.
