Coventry retailer Paul Cheema has emerged victorious as the 2011 Community Heroes Award winner and took away the £1000 prize at the annual ACS Summit in Birmingham.

The award was presented to Mr Cheema at the ACS Comedy Night after Summit, a day which featured over 400 delegates and thought provoking speeches from a range of first class speakers.

ACS Chief Executive James Lowman said: “We were overwhelmed by the standard of entries this year. All four of the finalists deserved their place in this competition, and continue to help out in their areas to ensure that they remain at the heart of their communities.

Paul Cheema is a worthy winner, and I’m sure that he will continue to work tirelessly in the community to raise money for charity and give the local residents the best possible shopping experience.”

The four finalists were Nisa retailers Kishor Patel of Houghton Trading and Paul Fisher from Fishers of Gerrards Cross, Costcutter retailer Paul Cheema and Premier retailer Lesley Brown of Frankmarsh Stores.
