Vote for Your Community Hero!
04 Apr 2007
The entries into ACS’ Community Heroes Awards have been shortlisted down to three and now it is up to visitors to www.thelocalshop.com to choose their Community Hero for 2007!
The three finalists are Kishor Patel, a Nisa retailer from Bedfordshire, Nigel Dowdney, a Red Orange member from Norwich, and Martin and Aileen Lovell, who own a store in rural Herefordshire.
All three win complementary places for themselves and a partner to attend ACS’ annual conference Summit 07, on 1 May. The winner will be announced at the conference Gala Dinner, sponsored by P&G.
The Community Heroes Awards, now in their second year, will be given to the retailer who demonstrates that they and their store staff have achieved something which makes a real difference to their community. The winner will receive £1000.
The wed poll goes live on 5 April and visitors to the website will have until 20 April to choose who deserves to be crowned Community Hero 2007.
James Lowman, Chief Executive, said: “I was delighted at the entries we received for the Community Heroes Awards. They were all of a very high standard and showed how many local shops are such an integral part of the communities they serve.
“We believe that allowing retailers, suppliers and the public to vote for their winner will make this year’s Awards extra special. It’s up to you to pick your Community Hero and get voting!”
