Final Speaker Announced for ACS Summit08

31 Mar 2008

ACS have announced that David Gordon, Director of Industry Development, at IGD, is to complete the programme of speakers at Summit08 at the NEC Birmingham Metropole on 24 April. Mr Gordon will be speaking as part of the session on the environment, in which Friends of the Earth Director Tony Juniper will also be speaking. Three convenience retailers, Proudfoots, Harry Tuffins and Plymouth & South-West Co-op will also be showing video case studies of the environmental measures they have taken in their stores. All the speakers will be interviewed by Summit08 Chairman John Stapleton.

ACS Chief Executive James Lowman said: “David Gordon is a guru on the convenience sector, and he will be able to put issues around the environment into perspective by using new consumer data. We have already sold substantially more tickets for Summit08 than for our highly successful Summit07 event. We have more retailers attending this year than at any previous conference we have run, and we have more retailers on stage talking about their businesses than ever before.”
