ACS Welcomes Increase on Lottery Commission

09 Oct 2007

ACS, (the Association of Convenience Stores), the campaigning voice of over 33,000 local shops, has welcomed the increase in commission on National Lottery Scratchcards.

Camelot has announced that, from 1 February 2009, commission on Scratchcard games will increase from 5% to 6% and commission on National Lottery Draw-Based games will be maintained at 5%. Camelot will also roll out faster, flexible terminals and digital screens across their network of over 27,000 retailers and provide full training on the new terminals.

James Lowman, ACS Chief Executive, said: “We welcome the increased commission on Scratchcards announced today by Camelot. Retailers are vital to the success of the lottery and we welcome moves to recognise the importance of their work. The new technology is an exciting improvement and ACS will support its roll out with the aim to improve retailers’ sales.

“We look forward to working with Camelot to maintain a high level of service to National Lottery customers.”
