Landmark Wholesale has joined the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS), bringing just under 1000 Hot House stores into membership.

The inclusion of Hot House retailers will boost ACS’ membership to 33,000 shops.

Landmark Wholesale, one of the largest Buying Groups in the UK, began their Hot House programme in 2001 to regenerate the independent retail sector.

The programme offers retailers impartial advice on store re-fits, range, layout, merchandising, pricing and technology. There are currently just under 1000 Hot House conversions in the UK with 2,500 scheduled to be completed by 2010.

Martin Williams, Landmark Wholesale Managing Director, said: “I am delighted to have joined ACS and feel that our retailers will benefit from the strength, knowledge and services of the Association. We share ACS’ vision for a vibrant independent retailer sector and we look forward to playing an active role within ACS.”

The Hot House programme was recently awarded the Best Wholesale Initiative accolade at the 2007 Top Shop awards for the role it plays working with independent retailers to improve their store's performance and helping regenerate the independent retail sector.

James Lowman, Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted that Landmark has joined the Association. Landmark have made a strategic decision to invest in retailers through their Hot House programme and share a passion for supporting retailers in such a competitive market. ACS is proud to represent Hot House and will be strengthened in our fight for independent retailers in Government.”
