ACS: Looking Out for You & Your Staff
05 Mar 2007
The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS), the campaigning voice of local shops, will be presenting its new services and providing advice to help retailers develop their business at the Convenience Retailing Show (CRS) on 6-8 March.
ACS will be promoting a number of essential retailer benefits on their stand, ranging from training to legal advice.
The PBSblueprint is ACS’ flagship legal service. The Blueprint is the ultimate business information service, designed specifically for the convenience store, and comprises several elements of legal help from health & safety and contracts of employment to disciplinary measures.
The Blueprint system is exclusively available to acsdirect members at a special price of only £120 plus VAT, a saving of around £400 compared with similar versions available on the market. Since its launch over 300 packages have been sold, success which is due to it being specifically developed for the c-store sector.
ACS will also be promoting its unique online training tool, Retail Detail. Produced in conjunction with the Retail Academy, Retail Detail is an online interactive business support system containing a selection of tools, resources and information. The training package, is available to ACS members for FREE, a saving of £90.
ACS Premier Club member Gallaher will take the floor every afternoon talking about the latest issues affecting the tobacco market and ACS Chief Executive James Lowman, who opened the show on Tuesday, will be taking part in the Q&A session on the Tuesday and Thursday. Discussions will include the forthcoming increase in legal age to sell cigarettes, the impending smoking ban, counterfeiting, smuggling and the introduction of picture health warnings on packs.
Hugh Arnott, ACS Retail Services Manager, said: “We are delighted to once again support CRS. This year we will be introducing retailers to the benefit and peace of mind that membership of the sectors’ trade association can bring. ACS can offer a great range of training products for retailers’ store and our handbooks are essential for coping with red tape. With so much change in the market and ACS’ crucial role in representing the sector, can you afford not to be on board?”
