Sunday Trading
In 2006 ACS successfully campaigned to maintain the current Sunday Trading Laws which limit shops over 280sqm opening for more than 6 hours on a Sunday. ACS strongly supports the Sunday Trading laws and produced significant evidence to show that consumers did not want an increase in Sunday trading, despite the claims of large retailers.
ACS was at the forefront of the campaign to protect the Sunday Trading hours and will continue to be so in the future. While currently there are no plans to review the Sunday Trading Act ACS continues to push for the continuation of the current law which works well for retailers and consumers.
