Storage Options
The rules do not prescrible how you cover your unit. It is therefore possible to cover your tobacco display in a number of ways, as long as the maximum display area is less than 1.5m2. Some of these possible solutions are below.
Curtain
A curtain covered display must obscure the tobacco completely and when retreiving the product, the maximum area that you can display must not exceed 1.5m2.
Sliding Doors
The most common example of a cover likely to be in place in retail stores is a sliding door solution retrofitted to a tobacco display unit.
Non-Visible Storage
Retailers may decide to put in place new under counter or over counter solutions that can be open units but must not be visible to customers.
